Former All Black star Zinzan Brooke will tomorrow marry his longtime partner, former Auckland Blues choreographer and television presenter Alison Imm.
It is understood the couple, who live in England, will wed at a private mansion at Piemelon Bay, Waiheke Island, in the late afternoon and spend the evening with other rugby stars and close friends.
This week, Brooke celebrated his stag night with 40 people, including rugby personalities Sean Fitzpatrick and Joe Stanley, brother Robin and golfer Michael Campbell, in the central-city Leftfield bar that Brooke co-owns.
Ric Salizzo, a co-owner of the bar and producer of the television show Sports Cafe, said: "Zinny just got back in town so we thought we'd have a few quiet drinks.
"We're getting a bit old for stag dos. We just had a round of golf and then headed back to Leftfield for some beers."
Campbell, who flew from Australia for the wedding, said he had met Brooke last year after a mutual friend told them they were living only five minutes apart in the London suburb of Richmond.
"I rang him up and we got on like a house on fire. He has been a great support and it has been fantastic getting to know him."
Brooke and Imm met 12 years ago - Imm had been a Blues cheerleader since 1986. But the couple's high-flying careers have thwarted earlier thoughts of marriage.
Two years ago, Imm said they wanted to get married as soon as they could.
"We definitely do, it's just the timing thing with us ... finding the right time."
Brooke played 100 games for the All Blacks - including 55 tests - between 1987 and 1997, establishing himself as one of the country's greatest number eights.
When he retired from New Zealand rugby, he started a contract with English club side Harlequins.
