A platform at Auckland's Britomart train station remains closed after chunks of concrete fell from the ceiling.
A large piece weighing about half a kilo fell onto a train yesterday afternoon and then hit the platform. It was then discovered another chunk had earlier fallen onto the tracks.
Regional stations risk and safety manager Bob Lupton said they would continue to assess the ceiling before they decide when to re-open the platform.
"We have decided to keep the platform closed, we have a more detailed structural inspection happening today."
Bob Lupton said of the four platforms only one is of concern and they were keeping a close eye on it.
