British Prime Minister David Cameron has cancelled a trip to New Zealand this week.
New Zealand Prime Minister John Key had confirmed last week his British counterpart would meet with him and make a short visit to Christchurch, however the plans have been scrapped so Cameron can attend a European Council meeting about the debt crisis on Wednesday.
Mr Key had hoped to discuss a wide range of regional and global issues with Mr Cameron, including the economic situation in Europe and around the world.
