KEY POINTS:
A Palmerston North bride was so concerned with doing her democratic duty that she stopped in to vote on the way to her wedding on Saturday.
Catherine Knight, 26, and her bridal party took a detour to Central Normal School to vote about 2pm before heading to her wedding ceremony at Newbury Hall.
"We walked in, and everyone looked at us and started smiling. Two of the bridesmaids had already cast special votes ... it only took a few minutes," Miss Lewis told the Manawatu Standard.
Groom Frank Materman, 42, seemed happy to wait for his bride.
