More babies are being exclusively breastfed for longer, the College of Midwives says.
The number exclusively breastfed for the first six weeks of their lives has increased 6 per cent since 2000.
There has been an 8 per cent increase in the number being exclusively breastfed from 10 weeks to 16 weeks of age, and a 4 per cent rise for those aged 16 weeks to seven months.
