Police are seeking a brazen bank robber who held up a National Bank branch in Auckland's Queen St this afternoon.
The robber, who wore a beanie but whose face was clearly visible, walked into the bank about 2.35pm and demanded money from the teller, Inspector Chris Robinson of Auckland police said.
The teller handed over cash to the robber, who did not present a weapon nor threaten to use one.
He left the bank with an undisclosed sum of money and then headed back up Queen St, where he was lost in the crowd.
Mr Robinson said some good pictures of the robber were obtained from the bank's security cameras.
He was described as a middle-aged European man, wearing a dark grey woollen beanie, light grey woollen jersey with dark stripes across his chest, dark trousers and white sports shoes.
Anyone with information about the robbery or who knows the robber's identity is asked to call police.
