A man who police described as "brazen" today pleaded guilty to three bank robberies in central Auckland.
Steven Peri, 32, appeared in the Auckland District Court via video link before Judge Jane Farish.
His lawyer Maxine Pitch said he wanted to plead guilty to three robberies - at the Karangahape Rd branch of Westpac Bank on March 8, and two others in the previous 12 days at a Kiwibank and an ANZ.
Judge Farish requested a pre-sentence report and remanded Peri in custody until his sentencing on May 19.
She told Peri he would be on a three strikes warning, which meant if he was found guilty again for a serious violent offence such as an aggravated robbery, he would not be eligible for parole.
Police described the robbery as "brazen" because Peri made no attempt to disguise himself.
His arrest came after police released security camera footage of the Karangahape Rd robbery.
