A brazen bank robber who made no attempt to disguise himself when he allegedly held up three Auckland banks at knife-point over the past six months has been arrested, say police.
A bearded man was pictured on security cameras armed with a knife as he held up National Bank branches in July, November and January.
After the photos were published, police acting on a tip off searched Auckland addresses last week and made an arrest in Mt Roskill today, a police spokesman said.
A man has been charged with three counts of aggravated robbery and will appear in Auckland District Court tomorrow.
All the robberies were carried out on a Friday and the man did not appear worried about being identified on security cameras.
The latest robbery was Friday, January 7, in the Auckland suburb of Mt Albert about 4pm, presented a knife and demanded money.
The other robberies were at The Mall, Onehunga, on July 23 and Dominion Rd, Mt Eden on November 5.
