National MPs confirmed Don Brash as the party's leader at their first post-election caucus meeting today.
Gerry Brownlee was confirmed as deputy leader.
The 49 MPs met in their caucus room at Parliament House.
Speaking after the meeting Dr Brash said neither he nor Mr Brownlee had faced a challenge.
He said he had no plans to resign, but refused to answer questions on whether he was prepared to lead the party to the next election.
