Bras have flooded into Wanaka from all over the world in the past six weeks as Wanakafest organisers tried to beat the world's longest bra chain record.
They fell short by more than 100,000 but not through a lack of trying.
The organiser admitted yesterday to "dreaming" that the small Central Otago town could beat the Cypriot tally of 114,782 bras, which set the Guinness Book of Records benchmark on April 30, in six weeks. But the effort raised $10,000 for breast cancer research.
