A 5-year-old Masterton boy is devastated his Christmas present, an MGP scooter, was stolen while he attended a holiday programme last month.
Kirsten Butters said she bought a scooter for each of her children, Corban, 5, and Montana, 7. Because she is a beneficiary, she said it was the only Christmas present each of them received from her.
Corban contributed $50 from pocket money, a birthday present from his grandfather, to the gift.
"To be able to do that for my kids was really special," she said.
She can't claim insurance because her excess has recently gone up to $300, and can't afford to replace the scooter.
