A new recovery clinic that aims to advance treatment for brain injuries and neurological conditions opened in Auckland today.
The Brain Recovery Clinic, part of Auckland University's Centre for Brain Research, will focus on finding new treatments for brain disease and therapies for patients. Its initial focus will be on stroke and traumatic brain injury.
Associate Minister of Health Jonathan Coleman said the clinic brought together clinicians, researchers and the community.
"The Centre for Brain Research is a great example of collaboration, with over 200 researchers all working towards a common goal of finding and developing new treatments for neurological disease," Dr Coleman said.
