KEY POINTS:
Two young boys have been found sleeping in a car wrecker's yard, five days after running away from home.
Police were called to a Rotorua yard this morning after workers apprehended the 10 and 11-year-old children.
Detective Sergeant Arthur McLean said the boys had been sleeping in the wrecks and said they ran away because home life was not good.
Mr McLean said their parents did not even phone police to report the boys missing.
"We've put one of the boys into CYF care at the moment. The other boy has gone to another relation, to hopefully a more stable environment for him to be at.
"We'll be dealing with them through the Youth Aid section," he said.
