A boy's foot has been punctured by wire at an Auckland secondary school this morning.
Firefighters and St John Ambulance were called to Onehunga High School in Pleasant St before class to help the pupil, whose foot was pierced about 8.30am.
It was initially believed the boy had been impaled on a fence but the school says the boy was wounded by a piece of wire.
The pupil was treated by ambulance and is expected to make a full recovery.
A St John Ambulance spokeswoman said a patient was taken to Auckland Hospital from the school with minor injuries.
