KEY POINTS:
A 15-year-old Greymouth motorist could face charges after being caught driving a car which had been lowered using an original, low-tech method.
Police pulled the youth over after reports of an early-model Mitsubishi Lancer swerving across State Highway 73.
Constable Rachel Lord told The Press it appeared the car had been lowered by filling the boot with rocks, shunning the more common - and also illegal - method of cutting the springs.
The car was unwarranted, unregistered and police took it off the road.
