Boy stable after road mishap

A boy struck by a truck in Waikato as yesterday in a stable condition in intensive care, a Waikato Hospital spokeswoman said.

The 11-year-old boy stepped in front of the northbound truck near a bridge on State Highway 1 in Ngaruawahia about midday on Friday.

The Waikato Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
