KEY POINTS:
Three boy racers had their cars impounded for doing burnouts after fellow boy racer Scott Finn's funeral on Wednesday, police said.
The 20-year-old was killed in the early hours of last Saturday morning when he was hit by a car in an illegal street race on Aviation Ave at Mount Maunganui.
Senior Sergeant Ian Campion said the 80-100 boy racers who attended the funeral at Mt Maunganui were generally well behaved.
"They demonstrated some maturity and police were pleased that was the case," he told the Bay of Plenty Times.
However, Mr Campion said three boy racers had their cars impounded for 28 days after they performed burnouts.
Another driver had his car impounded because he had been suspended from driving a few days earlier.
Two youths, aged 18 and 16, have been charged with Mr Finn's manslaughter.
