A boy racer caught going 132km/h in an 80km/h area has had his licence taken off him, his car impounded - and had to call his mum for a lift home.
Police busted the speedster among "a gaggle of cars" along Wairere Drive in Hamilton, with police saying the fleet of vehicles was heading out of the city to country roads where were going to race.
The driver who was caught more than 50km/h over the speed limit had three passengers in the car, until a police vehicle pulled them over for excessive speed.
Police suspended the 19-year-old's licence for 28 days and impounded his car for the same period.
