A 16-year-old boy has admitted three charges of sexually violating a 32-year-old female tourist after he broke into a house at Mt Maunganui this month.
The boy, whose identity cannot be revealed because he is a minor and to protect the victim, was remanded in custody for a family group conference when he appeared in the Tauranga Youth Court yesterday.
He also admitted a charge of burglary laid by police when he was arrested on December 5.
But he denied three new charges of threatening to kill.
Judge Christopher Harding remanded the boy until January 10.
The remand is to allow his lawyer, Liz Jamieson, to discuss the new charges with police.
