A 13-year-old boy was found early today after missing overnight in bush near Opotiki in eastern Bay of Plenty.
Whakatane police said the boy had been found about 5am today, cold and tired, but otherwise well. He was walking out with search teams.
Four search and rescue teams had worked through the night looking for the boy who had become separated from a group he was walking with on a bush track behind Waioeka Pa School, about 10km south of Opotiki, yesterday afternoon.
Inspector Darroch Todd of police northern communications said further search and rescue teams and a helicopter had been ready to take over the search today.
