KEY POINTS:
A young Christchurch boy was admitted to hospital today after being attacked and bitten by a dog.
The boy, believed to be aged 10, was taken to hospital by St John Ambulance with moderate to serious injuries after the attack at a Wharenui Rd property about noon, a St John spokesman confirmed this afternoon.
Christchurch City Council animal control officers were called to remove the dog from the property.
