Police have released the name of a teenager found dead on a Ngaruawahia street yesterday morning.
Sixteen-year-old Stevie James Ormond's body was on Herschel St by a passing motorist.
Detective Sergeant Mata John said he died of severe blood loss from a cut in his brachial artery, immediately below his right bicep.
His body was 50m north of the local fire station, which had been vandalised earlier yesterday.
" We believe the death was not suspicious and that his injuries were sustained from punching a glass window at the fire station."
A post-mortem examination was carried out in Hamilton today and the death has been referred to the coroner, who has opened an inquiry into the surrounding circumstances.
