A 15-year-old charged with assisting the driver of a car involved in an apparently fatal boyracer crash flee the scene was back in court today.
Kathleen Wilson, 25, died when a stolen car crashed while racing what was believed to be another stolen vehicle in the Auckland suburb of Onehunga in June.
The teenage boy, who cannot be named, appeared in Auckland Youth Court where he pleaded guilty to three charges of being an accessory after the fact to dangerous driving causing injury.
The youth also faces a separate set of charges in the Auckland District Court.
He was remanded in custody until at least November 11 for a family group conference.
Another 15-year-old, who allegedly drove the car in which Ms Wilson died, faces three charges of dangerous driving causing injury and two of unlawfully getting into a motor vehicle. He will appear in the Youth Court on October 28.
Ms Wilson died when the car crashed through a metal barrier in Arthur St, Onehunga on June 18.
Danielle Rocque, 17, and Tayla Fiaola, 16, were left badly injured at the scene.
Police allege the two abandoned Ms Wilson and the injured women, leaving Miss Rocque jammed in the back of the car along with Ms Wilson and Miss Fiaola, her cousin, who was unconscious.
