The 15-year-old accused of the murder and indecent assault of Kerikeri teenager Liberty Templeman has appeared in High Court in Whangarei.
Justice John Priestly granted the boy continued interim name suppression, and he will reappear on September 10.
Liberty's body was found face down in the Wairoa Stream in Kerikeri last November.
The boy's lawyer told Kaikohe Youth Court in April he would plead not guilty to both charges.
Justice Priestly has indicated a trial is likely be held early next year.
