A 9-year-old boy has died following an accident on a motorised go cart in the Far North this afternoon.
Police said emergency services were called to the beach at Ahipara about 5pm, after the go cart being driven by the boy rolled over.
The young boy died at the scene before an ambulance had arrived, police said.
Police said Victim Support was assisting the boys family, and they were continuing with their investigations into the boy's death.
