Boy, 8, seriously hurt

Members of a South Auckland family were last night keeping a bedside vigil at Middlemore Hospital after their 8-year-old son was hit by a car outside his Massey Rd home in Mangere.

Manu Langi Jnr was rushed to hospital in a critical condition just before 3.30pm yesterday. He suffered serious head injuries.

Up to 10 police cars blocked off the area between Gray and Vine Sts for up to three hours. Officers at the scene were speaking to the driver of a vehicle.
