A 16-year-old Hamilton boy is in a critical condition in Waikato Hospital's intensive care unit following a motor vehicle crash on a private forestry road in the Kinleith Forest yesterday.
The motorcyclist collided head-on with a utility vehicle, receiving life threatening injuries in the crash. The boy was transported by Westpac Waikato Air Ambulance to Waikato Hospital in a critical condition.
Earlier that day the rescue helicopter was called out to a horse riding incident near Te Akau, west of Ngaruawahia.
A 24-year-old Te Akau woman was kicked in the chest by a horse and seriously injured. Ambulance and fire crews attended the scene and the victim was flown to Waikato Hospital.
She was today said to be in a comfortable condition at the hospital.
