KEY POINTS:
Boxing Day is looking even better than yesterday as a large high builds over the country. If you couldn't get outdoors yesterday then today is definitely your chance to.
I expect mainly dry weather for most places... and best of all even warmer weather than Christmas Day.
Yesterday inland areas around Dunedin only made it to 12 while coastal Canterbury shivered on 13 to 15 degrees.
Today will be hotter in most places, especially our popular holiday spots.
Auckland should be sunnier today too - although as most Aucklanders would know it's very rare to have a clear blue sky - a downside of being surrounded by water.
Cloudy periods are likely to come and go but those winds will be much lighter - in fact sea breezes are instore for today.
Wet Weather:
Nothing significant on the horizon today. Possible places for showers (isolated ones) will be Taupo, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, possibly Napier, the West Coast and Southland. As I say, nothing major though and most people should experience a dry day.
Hot spots:
Our holiday spots! Bay of Islands, Coromandel, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawkes Bay, Nelson and Queenstown.
Next update: Tomorrow
