Ball dominated bat in the Red Star v Lansdowne match when the final round of matches in the Wairarapa Cricket Association's Bidwell Cup senior inter-club competition got under way on Saturday.
A total of 22 wickets tumbled with Red Star taking a slender first innings lead.
Strongly-favoured Lansdowne batted fist and only Ngatai Walker (21), Lee Ewington (18) and Jono Matthews (13) got into double figures as they were dismissed for a paltry 105.
Red Star used just the two bowlers with Nick Moorcock taking 5-45 from 16 overs and Carwyn Caffell 5-47 from 14.2 overs.
Red Star's first innings was similar to that of Lansdowne and it required a 12-run partnership for the last wicket for them to sneak a lead, the last wicket falling with their score at 107. A.Phelps top scored with 38 while bowling for Lansdowne Robin James took 4-34 and Chris Jefferies 5-49.
Lansdowne made a much better first of their second turn at bat and were an impressive 144-2 when stumps were drawn. Henry Cameron fit five fours and a six in his 60 while Lee Ewington has struck nine fours in his unbeaten 53.

Defending champions Greytown were struggling in their vital top-of-the-table c;lash with the Bracewell Academy X1.
The scoreboard from this match was not available in time for publication so details are sketchy but it is understood G.Williams and Jaco Oosthuizen were the star acts when the academy batted first and made 209.
Williams was out for 103 and Oosuhuizen for 28. Bowling for Greytown, Glen Jonas took 4-28, Greytown were then struggling at 96-5 in reply.
Wairarapa College was also on the backfoot in their match with Rathkeale College, a game in which the Peterson-McBride trophy was also up for grabs. Doug Bracewell made 106., Andy Dodd 35 and A.Oldfield 31 as Rathkeale reached an imposing 245-5 after dismissing Wairarapa College for just 97. Bracewell also showed his skills with the ball in taking 3-31 while Simon Clinton-Baker took 3-8.
