A bouncer allegedly ordered by an off-duty police officer to stop checking identification at a 21st birthday party has rejected police claims that all minors were accompanied by parents or guardians.
Police have launched an investigation into the event at The Grange in Takapuna last Saturday week, where staff claim the police officer flashed his badge around to stop some patrons being asked for ID.
The party was held in honour of the off-duty officer's girlfriend. The bouncer has asked not to be named.
