A man has been arrested after a bouncer was stabbed in the neck with a broken bottle early this morning.
Police allege he attacked the bouncer after being denied entry to a bar inside the Westfield Albany shopping centre, on Auckland's North Shore, about 1am.
Detective Sergeant Craig McCormack said the man escaped on foot, but was caught by other bouncers and members of the public.
He said the man was intoxicated.
Both the bouncer, 38, and the man were taken to hospital, the bouncer with moderate injuries.
A 37-year-old North Shore man is expected to appear in the North Shore District Court today charged with wounding with intent to cause grevious bodily harm.
Westfield Albany spokeswoman Deb McGhie said the shopping centre was helping police with their investigation.
Police asked anyone with information about the incident to contact them.
