An Australian bouncer has been found guilty of the murder of a New Zealander he pushed through the second-storey window of a Perth nightclub.
The jury in the trial of Stefan Pahia Schmidt, 25, returned a guilty verdict a short time ago, the PerthNow website reported.
He had pleaded not guilty in the West Australian Supreme Court to murdering Andy Marshall, the 29-year-old cousin of slain Feilding farmer Scott Guy.
Schmidt admitted he pushed Mr Marshall on May 8, 2011 but claimed his death was an accident.
The jury retired at 11.45am (3.45pm NZT) after closing remarks from Justice Ralph Simmonds. It returned a guilty verdict just over five hours later.
