A jury in the High Court at Napier last night found a bouncer not guilty of murdering a nightclub patron 13 months ago.
The jury also found Jonathon Charles Te Kahu, of Napier, not guilty of manslaughter.
Te Kahu, 25, was charged after the death of Flaxmere man James Gregory Sciascia, 30, on the street outside a new club in Napier.
While conceding that he punched and kicked Mr Sciascia after denying him entry to the club, Te Kahu pleaded not guilty on the grounds that he acted in self-defence.
