Bottled danger for firefighters

A stash of gas bottles compounded the danger for firefighters battling a blaze at an Auckland house last night.

The garage and roof of the Dominion Rd house were ablaze when emergency teams arrived about 6pm.

Firefighters managed to remove six of 11 gas bottles inside and the rest were cooled down to minimise the risk of explosion. The blaze spread through the house in 40 minutes.
