Another bottle has been thrown at a Tauranga woman from a moving vehicle - horrifying the woman who suffered terrible injuries from a similar attack earlier this year.
A 16-year-old boy has been referred to Youth Aid after a beer bottle was thrown from a moving van at Tauranga cyclist Jacqui Don last week. Mrs Don escaped uninjured.
Mary Loader, 65, of Papamoa, Mt Maunganui, suffered horrific injuries after a beer bottle was thrown in her face while out walking in May.
She returned home from hospital just six weeks ago following three surgeries and the insertion of five titanium plates in her face.
The offender has not yet been found.
Mrs Loader said she hoped the culprit responsible for Thursday's attack would get a rap over the knuckles.
"I think that's disgusting. It's shocked me that it's still going on," she told The Bay of Plenty Times
Seven months on, Mrs Loader said she was keen to put her experience behind her.
"I've turned a corner and I'm on my way upwards."
