Botanic congress for Dunedin stadium

Dunedin's new covered stadium has had its first international conference confirmed - the 2013 Global Botanic Gardens Congress.

Dunedin City Council was successful in its bid to hold the four-day conference, which will see 300 international delegates fly in to the city.

Dunedin's bid for the congress was supported by the Dunedin Conference Bureau and the Conventions and Incentives New Zealand (CINZ) conference bid fund.

This bid was the first international bid in five years to receive funding from CINZ, and the first from Dunedin.
