When it comes to beauty at a Lucie Boshier show the M.O. is always "bombshell" and the end result just depends on her current inspirations.
The clothing for this year's show was inspired by Liza Minelli in Cabaret, and the beauty combined both the 1930s setting of the movie and Lucie's typically sexy sensibilities.
But no matter the theme, Lucie always aims to "sex it up" and with her ususal crew of real women as models she managed to do so, although at times in her show it was a little too overt.
But when it comes to runway beauty, overt is always welcome. Besides, as Lucie herself pointed out, a cabaret style show deserves cabaret style makeup.
Black, smoked out, sex kitten eyes worked so well in combination with the cascades of curls faling from the sides of models' heads. The 30s curls were chosen instead of Marcel waves, deemed "so unattractive" by Ms Boshier.
This being Ms Boshier, they lost the traditional 30s cupid bow lips and added loads of gloss instead, on both lips and cheeks, for lots of sparkle and shine.
Lucie may puzzle fashion traditionalists, but when it comes to beauty, no one does bombshell better.
