KEY POINTS:
The family of an Auckland high school student is angry that the teenager accused of his murder has been released on bail to live nearby.
Augustine Borrell, 17, died after he was stabbed at a party in Auckland's Herne Bay in September last year.
Murder accused Haiden Davis, 19, was last week granted bail and is residing about a kilometre from Mr Borrell's home, Radio New Zealand reported today.
A family member said it felt the justice system was taunting them and having Davis living so close had opened up fresh wounds.
Augustine Borrell died after he was stabbed in the chest outside a party in suburban Herne Bay when it was closed down after gatecrashers arrived.
Davis is also charged with wounding with intent after another youth was stabbed at a different address on the same night.
His is not expected to stand trial until next year.
