About 25,000 long-term beneficiaries will share a $7 million bonus of half a week's benefit next month to compensate them for having their benefits changed from fortnightly to weekly.
Work and Income has notified beneficiaries that all benefits, other than national superannuation and veterans' pensions, will become weekly from July 24.
New benefits have been paid weekly for the past 10 years.
