KEY POINTS:
A Malaysian originally sentenced to 10 years in jail for sending a parcel bomb to New Zealand, and injuring two Aucklanders, lost his appeal yesterday. Malaysia's Court of Appeal dismissed the appeal by Dominic Chin Joon Siong after ruling that it was "devoid of merit".
Chin, 43, was convicted 10 years ago of unlawfully and intentionally placing the explosive on board a plane, but served less than a month of his sentence before being released on bail to fight his appeal case.
