An alleged bomb scare on an Auckland-Brisbane flight today was a hoax, police said.
Police received a phone report claiming a male passenger was going to board Air New Zealand flight NZ739 to Brisbane with a bomb.
Police determined the call was not credible and there was no risk to passengers on the flight. The flight landed safely in Brisbane shortly after 5pm, and Australian Federal Police spoke to the man alleged to be carrying the bomb.
NZ police are investigating the call and charges of making a false statement to police could be filed.
