Police will today speak with a man who made a hoax bomb threat overnight.
Shortly after midnight a caller phoned in a bomb threat, saying there was a device in a car outside Christchurch central police station.
"It turned out to be a hoax," a police spokesman said.
The area around the car the bomb was said to be in was evacuated. Police believe they know who made the call and would be speaking with a man today.
