KEY POINTS:
Christchurch police are trying to identify a body that was recovered from the Heathcote River this afternoon.
The body was found near Louisson Place in suburban Opawa.
The area was cordoned off and the Fire Service brought in a cherry picker which was used to photograph the scene and assist with the body's recovery.
The river was south of where 28-year-old Tisha Lowry disappeared after leaving a tavern in suburban Aranui on September 25.
Police scaled back the search for her at the beginning of the year saying the chances of finding her alive were remote.
