A man's body was pulled from the water at Houghton Bay in Wellington this morning.
Police said the dead man - believed to be in his 30s - was found at about 10.30am by members of the public.
Detective Senior Sergeant Dave Thornton said the death did not appear suspicious, but confirmed an investigation would be carried out.
A scene examination was underway and officers were working to formally identify the man, he said.
