The body of a 22-year-old Cromwell man has been recovered from Lake Te Anau.
A search was launched about 3.30am yesterday morning, after the man went missing while he and two others were in dinghy on the lake, police said.
They had rowed out to a small sea plane moored near a jetty, but the dinghy overturned as they were returning.
Ricky Joseph Gregory's body was found by a police dive squad at 4.40pm yesterday, Radio New Zealand reported.
The three on board had not been wearing lifejackets and were drinking, police said.
The two survivors, a man and woman, had been treated for shock.
