Police have today pulled a body from the Takaka River.
They confirmed it was that of missing Takaka man James Rano Dick.
The police dive squad pulled the 45-year-old's body from a spot about 120 metres down the Takaka River, which runs between the Abel Tasman and Kahurangi National Parks, from where he was last seen.
Dick, known locally as Hemi, had been freedom camping in the Takaka area.
He was last seen in waist-deep water, near the crush plant below the Takaka River rapids at 3.30pm on Wednesday.
He was only wearing khaki cargo pants.
