The body of Dunedin man Brad Anderson reported missing five days ago has been found.
Senior Sergeant Brian Benn said the 25-year-old was found in his car in the Kuri Bush area, 25km south of Dunedin, at midday yesterday by family and friends who were helping with the police search.
Mr Benn said the death was not suspicious, and had been referred to the coroner.
Mr Anderson had been the subject of an intense search by police after being last seen getting petrol at the BP service station on George Street at 11.30am on Thursday.
The alarm was raised when Mr Anderson failed to answer calls and texts to his mobile, which friend and family spokesman Paul O'Sullivan said was "extremely unusual for a guy who is on his phone 24/7".
