Body of missing BOP man found

Missing Bay of Plenty man Bruce Fowler has been found dead in the Kaingaroa Forest near Rotorua.

Police launched a search this week for Mr Fowler, 42, who was last seen on July 14 and yesterday his car was found by a member of the public on the edge of the forest.

At first light today police and Search and Rescue volunteers began a search of the area and found Mr Fowler's body in a stand of trees near his vehicle.

His death was not being treated as suspicious and had been referred to the coroner, Detective Sergeant John Wilson said.
