Police have recovered the body of an elderly Asian man found near a motorway in the middle of Wellington.
Detective Senior Sergeant Scott Miller said the body was found on a grass area next to the Tinakori Rd off-ramp shortly after noon. "We are treating the death as unexplained at this stage until a post-mortem examination is carried out but we are not seeking anyone else in connection to the incident," he said.
Police want to hear from motorists or office workers on The Terrace nearby who may have witnessed anything in the area shortly before midday.
