KEY POINTS:
Three Chinese students will today go on trial facing charges related to the death of a fellow student found dead in a suitcase in Auckland last Easter.
Cui Xiang Xin, Li Zheng and Wang Yuxi, all in their early 20s, face charges of kidnapping and murdering Wan Biao in Auckland last year.
A fourth man originally charged with kidnapping and being an accessory to murder, Yin Lianda, has been offered immunity from prosecution and will be a witness against the accused men during the trial.
The body of Wan, who was 19 at the time, was found on Good Friday in a suitcase which had allegedly been dumped off Princes Wharf in downtown Auckland the previous night.
The trial before Justice John Priestley was due to start at 10am but potential jurors had not arrived to be empanelled by 11am.
The trial is expected to last four weeks.
